What District 10 Needs: Eric Smith for D10 Supervisor!

Friends and Supporters,

The race for District 10 Supervisor is heating up! Every District 10 voter is in the difficult position of deciding who-out of 22 candidates-can truly address the needs of our diverse communities. We need economic development that creates real career jobs. We need better schools and access to affordable quality housing, childcare, health care and better transportation systems. We need someone to fight alongside us against foreclosures!

Eric Smith, long-time advocate for environmental justice and working families, is committed to unifying our district and finding solutions to the systemic problems we face. And so far, Eric's actions have resonated with the community. In the last few weeks he received 2 more endorsements:

  • Alliance of Californian's for Community Empowerment - the largest membership run community organization in District 10 committed to social and economic justice

  • San Francisco Tomorrow - one of the City's most respected urban environmental groups

  • Upcoming Events:

  • Dogpatch Biofuels BBQ and Fundraiser at 765 Pennsylvania. Friday, September 3rd from 6pm to 8:30pm.Come party with fellow biofuelers and the staff of Incredible Adventures. Please RSVP to rachel@ericsmith10.com.

  • Now is the time to make sure that D10 has a leader and fighter like Eric Smith as Supervisor! Your help is essential. In the next few weeks we are asking Eric's supporters to do the following: 1) Volunteer! It takes people like you knocking on doors and making phone calls to make this campaign a success. Saturday, Sept 4th @ 10am, supporters are going out into the community to spread the word about Eric's campaign. Location TBA. Contact Grace at grace@ericsmith10.com for more info or other volunteer opportunities.

    2) Donate! Money makes the world go round and it also helps pay for an office. Last week, Eric's campaign qualified for public financing. Now, for every $1 raised from SF residents, the City will contribute $4. Your $50 becomes $250, $100 becomes $500! Donations up to $500 (becomes $2500) will be accepted.

    3) Celebrate and Donate! On Sept 4th the campaign is hosting an Office Opening and Campaign Kick Off event at Project One, 251 Rhode Island Street from 4pm to 8:30pm. Come party with other volunteers and meet our new campaign staff. Please RSVP to rachel@ericsmith10.com.
